Our Mission
HALL is one app for the things people actually do online: debate, community, video, radio, news, photos, local help, jobs, school, faith, games and more. It's built and run by Technites, a small company in Orem, Utah, and it answers to the people who use it, not to advertisers or investors.
debate HALL is what makes HALL different: pick a side, get matched live with someone who disagrees, and make your case. Your reputation comes from how you argue, not how many followers you have. The best ideas hold up when they're tested against the other side.
Where We’re Going
HALL grows one part at a time, and you can see the order in project HALL. First on the list is ai HALL: Yogi, an assistant built into HALL that's as capable and as free to use as we can make it.
The long-term goal is for HALL to run on hardware it owns rather than rents, so no outside company can switch it off, change its rules or raise its prices. That's what independent means to us: HALL stays HALL for as long as people want it.
How It Works
HALL Pass
- No ads anywhere in HALLNo feed ads, banners or “watch an ad” prompts in any part of HALL.
- Ad ShieldNEWEvery video uploaded to HALL is scanned for ads before it goes live — what’s said and what’s shown on screen, including subtle sponsor plugs and promo codes. HALL Pass skips every ad portion automatically, skips videos that are nothing but an ad, and radio steers you to commercial-free stations.
- AI-free HALLNEWOne switch hides AI-generated photos, videos and posts: ones creators declare, ones HALL’s scanner detects from Content Credentials and AI metadata, and ones the community flags.
- Tips on your profileNEWA Tip button on your profile once you’re Verified, so people can say thanks. Turn it off any time in Settings → Profile.
- Random match with Verified people onlyNEWIn party HALL, meet someone new by voice. HALL Pass lets you insist on Verified people; by default random match is open to Verified adults only, both sides.
- Challenge any postNEWVerified members with HALL Pass can challenge any post — up to 3 challengers, the crowd picks the champion, and the poster decides whether to debate them.
- Only Verified peopleNEWOne switch shows you only what ID-checked members post — feeds, videos, community posts. It appears in Settings → HALL Pass the moment your pass is active; off until you turn it on.
- Hide buried postsNEWHide community posts and comments the crowd has voted down past a line you pick. Nothing is ever taken down; you just don’t have to read it.
- HD video debates and callsTurn your camera on in debates, parties and calls.
- Screen + audio sharingNEWShare your screen with its sound in party chat — everyone in the party can watch — and your screen in debate calls.
- Anonymous modeCamera off and a disguised voice when you want to argue without being recognised.
- Parties of up to 12Free accounts can party with 3.
- Verified badgeA government ID and selfie check run by Stripe Identity. HALL never stores your document.
- Priority matchingJump ahead in the debate queue.
- Reputation badgesShow off the reputation you earn from ratings.
- Debate recordingsKeep a full history of your own debates.
- Nationwide issuesPost team HALL issues for the whole country, not just your zip code.
Community Standards
HALL is a platform for open conversation. We don't moderate opinions. In debate HALL your reputation score — built through peer ratings — shows others how you argue. Everywhere else, the Community Guidelines are the rules.
